Delta Profile on a 1-minute chart, with Time (rolling time) lit on the DPRO pill and 3-point rows. Steel rows are net buying, amber rows net selling, and smaller rows are fainter. The outlined row, 502 at 29,700, has the largest net delta in the window; the largest net selling row is −397. This screenshot comes from the first stand-alone release, so the chart header reads FF DeltaProfile; the indicator is now listed as FF Delta Profile. Tap to enlarge.

What Delta Profile does
Delta Profile adds up the volume traded at the ask and at the bid at each price, and draws the difference as a horizontal bar against the right edge of the chart.
Every trade is checked against the bid and ask at that moment. A trade at or above the ask counts as buying, at or below the bid as selling. Trades between the two are left out. Net delta is buying minus selling, so a positive row had more aggressive buyers and a negative row more aggressive sellers.
The larger a row’s net delta, the longer and brighter its bar. The row with the largest net delta, either side, is outlined as the delta POC. Each row can print its number: the net delta, or the buy and sell volume. The window the profile covers is set from the DPRO pill and changes without a reload.
Purpose
Delta per bar tells you which side was more aggressive in each bar, but not at which prices, and adding it up across a move is guesswork. A session volume profile shows the prices, but only over a whole session.
Without Delta ProfileDelta per bar, added up in your head across a moveVolume at price only for whole sessionsNo quick way to see where the imbalance was largest

Why choose it
Four windows, one click. Sess, Vis, Bars and Time on the pill. Switching rebuilds from the ticks already collected, with no reload.
Built from ticks. Each trade is classified against the bid and ask from Level 1 data. No Order Flow+ subscription.
Keeps counting while hidden. Turning it off only hides the histogram. Ticks keep accumulating, so it comes back complete.
Readable at a glance. Length and brightness follow the size of each row. Numbers appear when rows are tall enough to hold them.
Net delta or both sides. Label Mode prints the net delta, or the buy and sell volume, buy first: 1,234 x 987.
Presets for NQ and ES. One setting loads the row size and a 30-minute rolling window.
A noise filter. Min |Δ| Filter hides rows with a small net delta.
One Tick Replay chart, any number of charts. Run a Publisher on one background chart with Tick Replay. Viewers on your other charts need no Tick Replay, and each picks its own window, row size and labels.
Part of the suite toolbar. The DPRO pill stacks with the other FlowForged pills and follows the Master Switch.
How it works
Classify each trade. Every Last tick is compared with the bid and ask at that moment: buy at or above the ask, sell at or below the bid, otherwise left out.
Bucket it by price. The trade goes into a row of Tick Interval ticks (12 ticks, 3 points, on the NQ preset), kept bar by bar for the last 20,000 bars.
Pick the window. Sess, Vis, Bars or Time decides which bars are added together.
Rebuild. The profile is recomputed at every new bar, up to four times a second while ticks arrive, and at once when you change the window.
Draw it. Rows on screen are drawn at the right edge, sized against the largest row, with that row outlined.
With the multi-chart relay, the Publisher keeps the trades as one-minute totals at every price for the sessions it keeps, and each Viewer adds up the minutes inside its own window, row size and trading hours.

How to set up Delta Profile in NinjaTrader 8
Add FF Delta Profile from the Indicators window to your chart.
In the chart’s Data Series, turn on Tick Replay so the profile has history when the chart loads.
Under 2. Calculation, set Instrument Preset to your market: NQ (default), ES, or None to set the rows yourself.
Pick the window on the DPRO pill: Sess, Vis, Bars or Time.
Optional: set Label Mode to BuySell to see both sides on each row.
Several charts of one instrument? Set Role to Publish on one 1-minute background chart with Tick Replay, and to Viewer on the others. Settings and status badges are under Multi-chart relay in the User Manual; the relay guide shows a full layout.
New to NinjaTrader add-ons? The install guide covers importing, Tick Replay and common fixes.
For history. Turn on Tick Replay in the chart’s Data Series (first enable Show Tick Replay under Tools > Options > Market Data). Without it, the profile builds only from live ticks received after the chart loads. With the multi-chart relay, only the Publisher chart needs it.
Which windows can it show?
The session, the bars on screen, the last N bars or a rolling time window. All four read the same collected ticks, so switching from the toolbar is instant.
Can each chart show a different window?
Yes, with the multi-chart relay. One Publisher shares the trades, and each Viewer has its own Sess, Vis, Bars and Time buttons, row size and labels.
How far back can it reach?
On its own chart, the last 20,000 bars, which caps how far a long session or rolling window can reach on a fast chart. A Viewer reaches back as far as its Publisher keeps: 2 sessions by default.
Futures trading involves substantial risk and is not for every investor. Chart examples show past market activity and are not indicative of future results. Delta Profile is an analytical tool, not trading advice.
Each bar is one price row. Its color is the side that was more aggressive there, and its size is how much more.
502−397
The color is the side
Steel rows had more buying at the ask, amber rows more selling at the bid. These are the FlowForged theme colors.
LARGESMALL
Length and brightness are the size
A row’s length and opacity scale with its net delta against the largest row in the window. Small rows are short and faint.
502
The outline is the delta POC
The row with the largest net delta, either side, gets an outline and a bold number. It is white on a dark chart and near-black on a light one.
3311,234 x 987
The number is the row
The row’s net delta, or its buy and sell volume in BuySell mode. Numbers show when rows are at least 9 pixels tall.
The histogram is drawn against the right edge of the price panel, next to the price scale, 150 pixels wide by default. Only rows inside the visible price range are drawn.
Windows
The window decides which bars are added together. Pick it on the DPRO pill or with the Period setting.
Sess (Session)option
From the first bar of the current trading session, as set by the chart’s Trading Hours template, to the latest bar.
Vis (Visible Bars)option
The bars on screen. It follows as you scroll or zoom, refreshing on the next incoming tick.
Bars (Last N Bars)option
The last N bars, including the one forming. Set N with the Bars: 30 button.
Time (Rolling Time)default
A rolling window of Time Count in Time Unit: 30 minutes by default. The unit can be Bars, Minutes or Days (24-hour days, not sessions).
All four windows read the same collected ticks, so switching is instant and nothing is lost. The profile is rebuilt at every new bar and up to four times a second while ticks arrive. It keeps data for the last 20,000 bars, which caps how far back a long Session or Rolling Time window can reach on a fast chart. On a Viewer the windows reach back as far as the Publisher keeps (see Multi-chart relay).
Ticks keep accumulating while the profile is switched off, so turning it back on shows the full window.
Rows, labels and presets
Each row is Tick Interval ticks tall, starting on a multiple of that many ticks. Rows are drawn at least 1 pixel tall, however far you zoom out. A bar’s length is its net delta against the largest row in the window, and its opacity runs from 18% for the smallest rows to 92% for the largest.
By default each row prints its net delta. Set Label Mode to BuySell to print the row’s buy and sell volume instead, buy first, for example 1,234 x 987, or Off to hide the numbers. Numbers only appear when rows are at least 9 pixels tall, so zoom in if they disappear. Rows whose net delta is below the Min |Δ| Filter are hidden and do not count toward the largest row.

Delta Profile needs Tick Replay for history, and Tick Replay is heavy on a busy execution chart, more so on every chart that has it. The relay runs it on one background chart; every other chart of the instrument draws its own profile from what that chart shares.

VIEWERAny chart of the instrument, any timeframe, no Tick Replay: its own window, rows and labels
The Publisher keeps every trade as one-minute totals of buying and selling at each price, for the last Sessions kept sessions. A Viewer adds up the minutes inside its own window, so its Sess, Vis, Bars and Time buttons, Bars: N, row size, label mode and |Δ| filter all work as on a single chart. Windows follow the Viewer chart’s own Trading Hours: an RTH chart shows only RTH trades, even from an ETH Publisher. On a 1-minute chart a Viewer matches a single chart exactly; on charts whose bars are not whole minutes, each window edge can be up to a minute off.
0. Multi-chart relay
RoleStandalone
Standalone computes and draws on this chart, as before. Publish needs Tick Replay: it counts every trade, draws its own profile and shares the trades with Viewers; without Tick Replay it stays Standalone and says so in the Output window. Viewer reads no ticks and needs no Tick Replay.
Relay channelblank = auto
Blank uses the instrument root. A Viewer on a micro pairs with the full-size contract by itself (MNQ to NQ, MES to ES, MGC to GC, MCL to CL, M2K to RTY, MYM to YM), so publish on the full-size contract. A Publisher on a micro, or two Publishers on one instrument, need the same name typed on the Publisher and its Viewers.
Publisher: sessions kept2
How many sessions of minute totals the Publisher keeps, 1 to 5, the current one included. A Viewer’s window, including Vis scrolled back, stops at the oldest kept session. Load at least this many days on the Publisher chart.
The Viewer pill ends with a status badge:
● NQ (green): live, the Publisher was heard from in the last 10 seconds.
NQ 15s, NQ 2m (amber): the Publisher is registered but quiet: a frozen chart, a dead feed or a closed market.
NQ LOAD (blue): the Publisher’s chart is loading its history, after opening, F5 or a dropped data connection. Its last profile stays on the chart until it is live again, if it is under 30 minutes old. Shown for up to 20 minutes.
NQ WAIT (amber): a Publisher is live but has nothing current to share, for example while the market is closed.
NQ MONTH (amber): the Publisher is on a different contract month than this chart, so its profile would sit at the wrong prices. It is hidden until the two match.
NQ CACHED (grey): no Publisher yet, so the Viewer shows the copy saved to disk, if it is under 30 minutes old.
NQ OFF (red): no Publisher on the channel. A profile left by a closed Publisher stays for up to 30 minutes.
PART after any of these: this chart’s window reaches further back than the Publisher keeps, so only the kept part is shown.
