Fair Value Gaps. Detected, tracked, and inverted.

The three-bar inefficiency every ICT model is built around, drawn the moment it confirms. FVG plots bullish and bearish gaps with a gradient-fade fill and luminous edge, watches each one until price mitigates it, then re-renders the mitigated gap as an inversion FVG — same zone, flipped role, dashed brighter border. A clean, fast read on imbalance and where price is likely to react.

DETECTION

Three bars. One gap. Marked instantly.

A bullish FVG forms when a bar’s low sits above the high of two bars back — an unfilled gap left by a displacement candle. The bearish case is the mirror. FVG confirms each gap at the bar close, applies a minimum-size filter in ticks so noise gaps are ignored, and renders the survivors with the FlowForged gradient-fade and luminous-edge style.

How a gap is found

Detection runs on bar OHLC only — no Tick Replay, no Order Flow+ license. The middle candle is the displacement that opened the gap.

BULL
Bullish FVG
Low of the current bar is above the high of two bars back. The gap runs from that prior high up to the current low — an unfilled imbalance to the upside.
BEAR
Bearish FVG
High of the current bar is below the low of two bars back. The gap runs from that prior low down to the current high — the bearish mirror.
FILTER
Minimum gap size
Set a minimum gap height in ticks so small, insignificant gaps never draw. Set it to zero to show every gap.
CE
Consequent encroachment
The 50% midline of each gap is drawn as a dashed line — the level inside the gap price most often respects.
Mitigation → inversion FVG
Mitigation tracking

Every active gap is watched until price trades through its far side. Choose whether a gap counts as mitigated on a wick through the far edge or only on a bar close beyond it.

Inversion FVGs (iFVGs)

Turn iFVGs on and a mitigated gap doesn’t disappear — it re-renders in the same color with a dashed, brighter-accent border as an inversion FVG. The level that was support is now resistance, and vice versa. Turn iFVGs off and mitigated gaps are cleared from the chart.

Render caps, not data caps. Choose how many active FVGs and iFVGs to show at once from the toolbar’s Gaps button. The indicator always keeps the latest 50 per side in memory, so widening the cap reveals older gaps instantly — no chart reload.

Seven palettes, plus Custom.

One theme drives both the FVG fill and the iFVG accent edge. Pick a preset from the gear menu on the toolbar pill, or choose Custom to keep your own hand-picked bullish and bearish colors across workspace reloads.

FEATURES

What you get

Bullish + bearish, per-side control

Show both sides or filter to one. A single FVG toggle on the toolbar flips both at once; per-side checkboxes in the settings give you granular control.

Wick or close mitigation

Decide what counts as a fill. A wick through the far side for early signals, or a confirmed close beyond it for stricter mitigation.

Inversion FVG (iFVG)

Mitigated gaps flip into iFVGs with a dashed brighter border, so a level that flipped role stays on the chart and reads at a glance.

Labels + CE midline

Editable “FVG” and “iFVG” labels with a master on/off, and an optional consequent-encroachment line marking the 50% of each gap.

Toolbar pill controls

Power, FVG, iFVG, Labels, the Gaps render-cap popup, and the theme gear all live on a pill in the chart toolbar. Part of the FlowForged Master Switch system.

SharpDX rendered

Direct2D rendering with cached brushes and stroke styles. Gradient-fade fills and luminous edges paint without flicker, even with dozens of zones on the chart.
